Expectations For Instrumental Music:
- Be on time to class- don't mess around in halls or bathrooms.
- Come into class quietly.
- Sit in assigned seat.
- Be prepared - if you are in an instrument class, bring your instrument.
- Band and String students should get instruments and music out and start practicing as soon as they arrive to class.
- Band and String students who forget instruments are expected to participate with alternative assignments.
- Participate in class activities including singing, playing and listening.
- Use correct posture when it is time to sing or play music.
- Be responsible for your instrument and music.
- Play a respectful sound on your instrument NOT LOUD OBNOXIOUS NOISES.
- Be quiet and listen when it is the teacher’s or another student’s turn to speak.
- Help out! Put things away in the proper place when you are done using them.
- Treat others how you would want to be treated, including the teacher.
- Do not leave class without permission or until you are excused.
- Have a good attitude.
Consequences:
1. Verbal Warning
2. Consequence - Example: Yellow Behavior self-review Activity worksheet.
3. Severe Consequence - Example: Pink Think-time activity Worksheet.
4. Repeat offenders may have other consequences such as administrator and parental intervention.
Yellow - Behavior Self-Review:
This form is filled out by upper grade students by the student as a consequence for a inappropriate behavior choice after fair warning has been given. For lower grades, the music teacher will fill it out after discussion with students and return to classroom teacher for signature.

Pink - Think Time Activity:
This form is filled out by upper grade students by the student as a consequence for a inappropriate behavior choice after a warning and escalation. It is for upper grades students only and the intention is to build empathy and respect for the classroom community and the teacher. Students are expected to return to classroom teacher for signature.
